WEBSITE HAS CHANGED- Our new website is woodlandrebels.co.uk

Leaving WildWise
Over the past decade we have grown from the humble beginnings of 2 adults helping me work with the 7 kids attending; to what we have today with over 25 adults on the staff team alone and over 55 kids as Tributes. In short we’ve outgrown WildWise and so have had to, very amicably, part company and take these camps out from under the WildWise umbrella. But we are forever grateful for this collaboration in hosting these camps  and for everything they’ve done over the last 10 years in supporting these camps to become what they have.

                                                                MOVING FORWARDS

So we are moving forwards under a new name and within a new organisation called Woodland Rebels. Nothing will change on the ground. It's the same team, the same ethos, the same beautiful site in Bristol and the same wonderful nature filled long summer days playing in the woods. Our new website is www.woodlandrebels.co.uk
. Even though we expect these camps will continue to be referred to as the Hunger Games and Mockingjay camps, we've changed the names of the camps to the Arena  and the Rebellion, though in essence they're exactly the same.

We hope to see you over on the Woodland Rebels website and back in the woods next summer. All the details are on the new website and at this time (January 29th 2025) there are still a handful of places left I believe on each camp. The dates are :

The Arena (previously the Hunger Games) : August 7-11
The Rebellion (previously the Mockingjay) : August 14-18

All the best Robin Bowman

2024 Hunger Games Camp Dates: August 8th-12th

THESE CAMPS ARE NOW FULL- We're sorry to announce that due to its popularity these camps have already filled up and are now full. Please follow the normal booking links in order to pay the remainder. Dates and bookings for August 2025 will open in September or October. Alternatively, you can join the waiting list for this year's camp by following the link, pressing "buy tickets" and entering you email in the box!

Sorry for any disappointment for the kids who were keen to come this year. We wish we had the capacity to run more camps and to accomodate everyone who would like to attend but these camps are such large logistical undertakings for the staff team that it's just not possible. Hope to see you again in the woods.

Training Camp: Tributes will arrive to our 'Capitol', and spend the first two days camping together at the 'Training Camp' learning all the skills Katniss and Peeta used in the Arena. These include fire making, sneaking and stalking, shelter / den building, camouflage, edible plants, and nature awareness skills such as bird language (which Rue and Katniss knew) which Tributes will use to ambush eachother. They will also be winning sponsors hoping to get a parachute in the Arena.

Arena: On the morning of the third day, pairs of Tributes camo themselves up, enter the Arena and the Games begin. Grabbing a nerf gun and backpack from the 'Cornucopia' filled with all the essential survival stuff, such as some basic food, water bottle, something to help start a fire, and armed with their new trusty weapon of a nerf gun (with poster paint), they take off into the wildwood Arena. Seeking other Tributes to 'kill' off with their nerf guns by stalking, camouflaging, sneaking up on and ambushing them; they must also find food, water and make fires to become the Victor.

Ideally all new Tributes come on the  Hunger Games camp, before the other camps, to learn all the skills and to have the whole exciting experience of being a Tribute in the Arena. However get in touch if the dates don't work for you; and you can only make the Mockingjay camp

Inspired by the format of the Hunger Games in the first book and film, this camp is still our best and we have run fifteen Hunger Games over the last eleven years. Click here to see photos from our Hunger Games camps
